Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder peer education project

Overview

The Injury Control Council of WA (ICCWA) and Telethon Institute of Child Health Research (Telethon Institute) will seek to establish a network of Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) peer educators.

The FASD peer educators will be trained to inform and educate community members in a personal, respectful and approachable way about the harms of alcohol consumption during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding. An innovative FASD peer education framework and a suite of resources for peer educators will be developed.
