Intensive support tenancy enabling program (ISTEP)

 

Overview

The Intensive support tenancy enabling program (ISTEP) provides a stable and supportive environment for people seeking to maintain a public housing tenancy. The program delivers intensive case management and life skills, tenancy training and other support as required.

ISTEP supports people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or waiting for public housing.

The service offers counselling in critical areas including:

Training in life skills and assistance in entering work and education are also provided. Case workers also give mentoring support to people in the program.

ISTEP participants are accommodated in public housing for up to 12 months.
