Sobering-up shelter (Koori Community Alcohol and Drug Resource Service)

Overview

Run by Koori Community Alcohol (KCA) & Drug Resource Service (DRS), the program provides a non-threatening sobering-up environment for Aboriginal people that are found under the influence of alcohol or drugs in public areas. It constitutes an alternative to incarceration and offers referral to related services if needed. This sobering-up shelter program is implemented in six different health centres.
