Indigenous Weather Knowledge

Overview

The Indigenous Weather Knowledge project aims to document the weather knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities from around Australia on a web resource.

The web resource includes information on the different seasons, as well as additional information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander interactions with the environment and knowledge of weather and climate.

Weather information for different areas of Australia is available via an Australian map where detailed information on each season is available.

The website is the result of a joint effort involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the Australian Government, the Bureau of Meteorology and Monash University.
