The Boab Health Service - otitis media program aims to enhance the capacity of primary health care providers in the Kimberley region of Western Australia to provide high quality treatment for otitis media (OM) in Indigenous children.
The program aims to achieve this goal by enhancing OM care coordination through linking service providers, school nurses, community clinic nurses, and general practices (including Aboriginal Medical Services).
A program officer, who will work collaboratively with the existing Hearing Health Coordinator, Hearing Health Trainer, Regional Ear Health Coordinator, and Allied Health Assistant-Ear Health program staff, will be employed as a part of the program to ensure proper follow-up of children identified with OM.
