Trachoma Health Promotion - Remote Program

 

Overview

Trachoma Health Promotion - Remote Program aimed to promote good health and hygiene practices to eliminate trachoma from remote communities in the Northern Territory (NT).

Trachoma health promotion officers, employed as a part of the program, worked broadly across the community in partnership with other organisations and groups to address two components of the Surgery for Trichiasis (inturned eyelashes), Antibiotics, Facial Cleanliness and Environmental Improvement (SAFE) strategy for trachoma elimination; the F (facial cleanliness) and E (environmental improvement).
