This study will explore how Indigenous people in Australia, Canada and New Zealand protect themselves against blood-borne viral (BBV) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Focusing on resilience factors - strategies that enhance the ability of Indigenous people to avoid acquiring these infections - places this project beyond a past emphasis on risk and disadvantage.
Using clinical audits, community-based participatory research and cross-sectional surveys, the project will focus on adolescents and young adults in urban settings to:
