This project aimed to investigate the long-term impacts on health, economic and social outcomes of complex interventions restricting the supply of alcohol in the Cape York region of far north Queensland.
It was anticipated that the study would provide an evaluation framework and evidence base to inform communities and governments if future policy. Thus, program adjustments were proposed in those, and similar, Indigenous communities elsewhere in Australia.
The project was funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) over a three year period, which commenced in 2013 and ended in 2015.
