Feed Melbourne

Overview

Feed Melbourne is a campaign that provides grants to charities in Melbourne, Victoria. These grants aim to give local charities the capacity to support people going through hard times in their communities. Feed Melbourne's special grants advisory committee - which includes FareShare, Foodbank Victoria and the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation - reviews the grant applications and decide how the funds should be distributed.

Businesses across Melbourne are encouraged to donate any surplus quality nutritious food which is collected daily by FareShare. FareShare is a charitable group who then cook nutritious meals and distribute them to Victorian charities.

In the first three years Feed Melbourne gave $800,000 to almost 80 community food programs.
