Fresh food for families: generations of health

Overview

Fresh food for families: generations of health was a St John's Care initiative, promoting awareness of good nutrition and offering emergency relief fresh food and goods.

In the past St John's Care had always provided emergency food for people in need and receives a continuous supply of donated non-perishable food. However St John's Care was aware that what they are able to supply does not necessarily represent a balanced diet. They were also aware that the effects of poor nutrition and life skills are perpetuated by family culture and economic disadvantage. This program aimed to educate participants about the benefit of good nutrition and provide viable means for participants to access quality, healthy food.
