This program coordinates optometrist and eye specialist visits - routine and surgical - and runs a permanent and travelling eye clinic to serve Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the Barkly region, Northern Territory. It is able to provide glasses at subsidised prices and is particularly focused on yearly eye checks for people with diabetes.
The program's success is built on the full time employment of a Regional Eye Health Coordinator and an administration assistant and Anyinginyi's collaborative efforts in the Central Australia and Barkly integrated eye health strategy.
