Aboriginal culture and identity program

Overview

This project focuses on Indigenous children under the guardianship of the Minister who may have been cut off from family and kinship groups. The aim of the program is to improve the children's health and sense of wellbeing by addressing the issues which may have been disadvantageous for these young people in care. The program involves working with the people central to the young people in care which may include foster carers, community and government agencies and Indigenous elders. Together, cultural identity in the context of care can be developed.
