The Trachoma elimination program aims to reduce the prevalence and transmission of active trachoma in communities in South Australia where trachoma is endemic.
The program will do this by:
All participaing individuals and families are treated in accordance with the Guidelines for the public health management of trachoma in Australia. Major improvements in environmental conditions in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia are also a core requirement for trachoma eradication.
