Wurli-Wurlinjang Heart Day Program

 

Overview

This program at the Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service in Katherine in the Northern Territory (NT) was developed to improve the wellbeing of clients with cardiovascular conditions like ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, rheumatic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, obesity and large waist circumference.

Clients engage in self-assessment, healthy cooking, a ten-week education program, medical care and social interactions at lunchtime.
