Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector accreditation and quality standards project
Overview
This project explored the feasibility of applying accreditation standards to the Indigenous health services sector.
Specifically, the project identified:
- accreditation standards that could be applied to the Indigenous health services sector
- the most feasible approach to implement accreditation against those standards
- the support needed throughout the sector in order to achieve such accreditation.
Representatives from Indigenous health organisations and from the accreditation industry were consulted for the project.
The outcomes from the project were provided as advice to the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) at the federal Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA). This advice is available for download via the links below.
