Overview

Anawim community centre provides access to a range of support services for sole Aboriginal women who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, who have an alcohol and other drug and/or mental health needs, are on a low income, or are isolated or disadvantaged in other ways. It also provides daily assessment, crisis assistance, referrals, information and advocacy services for:

• accommodation referrals/advocacy (to crisis accommodation, private and public housing, and to Anawim emergency housing intake service)
• internal/external referrals as appropriate
• income and financial issues
• material assistance
• parenting supports
• drug and alcohol concerns
• mental health issues
• legal issues
• physical health concerns.
