Overview

The Great Southern community drug service team (GSCDST) is run by Palmerston Association Inc. The team is based in Albany, Western Australia, and services cover a large area in the Great Southern region. There are offices in Denmark, Katanning and Albany.

The GSCDST provides a variety of services including:

• one-on-one counselling for individuals and families
• counselling for people in the justice system, including court diversion programs
• drug and alcohol withdrawal management
• information about alcohol and other drugs
• education and training for professionals and community groups
• support and consultation to schools, service providers and community groups
• a family program (Young parents' program) to help families who are experiencing alcohol and other drug problems
• needle/syringe program
• group counselling and art group.
