This joint project between the Murrumbidgee Division of General Practice and the Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service aims to raise awareness of the self harming and suicidal behaviours experienced by Koori youth. The program focuses on the professional development of community workers and enables them to recognise and support young people at risk. In addition, young people aged 14-25 are encouraged to participate in a suicide prevention program with a foundation in art. The project relies on a whole of community approach to improve mental health outcomes for young Indigenous people.
