The Healing land, healing people program aims to develop strategies to divert young people from experiencing juvenile detention. This program was designed for Nyoongar young people in the south west of Western Australia who are at risk of offending. It is a collaboration between government, community organisations, Gondwana Link, and Nyoongar leaders in the Aboriginal Corporation of Noongar Youth Diversion Programs; it is supported by a Lotterywest grant. This program recruits Aboriginal mentors from the local community to teach young people about respect for self, land and culture.
