Life! Taking action on diabetes

Overview

In 2007 the Victorian Government funded the development of a type 2 diabetes prevention program Life! Taking action on diabetes. The four year program was developed by Diabetes Australia - Vic (DA-Vic) and consisted of three key strategies:

The first phase of this program targeted people aged 50 years or older and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Victorians aged 18 years or older. The program has been extended and the eligibility criteria for participation has been revised to include Victorians aged 18 years or older found to be at high risk through a WorkHealth check, or who had previously been diagnosed with a high-risk condition, specifically gestational diabetes mellitus and ischemic heart disease.
