Wuchopperen youth program

Overview

This program, by the Wuchoperren Health Service, offered support to Indigenous youth which was tailored specifically to the needs of young men and women.

The aim of the program was to foster a sense of cultural pride, respect for others, and healthy personal and family relationships in young Indigenous people. Separate programs were developed for young men and young women to cater to their individual needs. The program utilised Indigenous dancing lessons, storytelling, and traditional bush food collection to achieve its goals.
