Stagpole Street drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit (SS DARU) is operated by the Congress Community Development and Education Unit Limited, and has run since May 1998. The unit offers residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services, predominately to Indigenous people who make up approximately 80% of their client base. The unit specialises in offering culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who's lives are, or have been, negatively impacted from substance use.
