Noongar Radio's Inside out program

Overview

Inside out is a radio program broadcast weekly on Noongar Radio, 100.9fm. The program airs on Sundays from 5:00-9:00pm, and is co-hosted by Noongar Radio's Mechelle Wilson and Casuarina Prison's Coordinator of Aboriginal Services, Lea McKay. The program is prison-oriented, and the hosts take requests from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prison population, with the aim of keeping family, friends and loved ones connected. Indigenous related issues are also discussed on air, and poetry written by prisoners is shared.

The radio program won an award under the "Best New Program or Content Initiative" category in the 2011 Community Broadcasting Association of Australia's Voxies awards.
