Overview

The purpose of this pilot program is to help participants internally heal. In learning to heal from within, participants are able to build stronger family relationships.

The program:

• assists participants to understand what oppression is and how it has affected their lives
• facilitates the understanding that rejection, grief and loss are the foundation of all hurt
• encourages participants to examine their own personal hurt and allow themselves to heal from within
  helps participants address family and personal relationships and what may have been lifelong patterns of violence, abuse and neglect
• is based on a cultural belief that Indigenous people do not own but belong to their land.
  

The program provides an individual case-management plan for each participant. It also provides follow-up, links, referrals and the option for participants to be supported by a mentor.

This program is funded by Victoria's Closing the health gap initiative.
