Overview

The aim of this program is to provide environmental health services to Aboriginal communities in the Derby/West Kimberley region of Western Australia (WA).

This program is carried out by an Environmental Health Officer/Building Surveyor and two Aboriginal Field Support Officers.

The types of activity done as part of this program include:

• building inspections
• waste-water disposal inspections
• food safety inspections
• dog health injections
• germ education
• clean-ups and car body removal
• pest control
• mosquito-borne disease monitoring
• infectious disease investigation
• surveys and research
• support for graduate Environmental Health Workers.
