In the south east Arnhem Land community of Ngukurr, beside the Roper River in the Northern Territory, young people make up more than 50 per cent of the population. Ngukurr youth pathways project is a youth based community group project, positively engaging the youth of Ngukurr through vocational work like building infrastructure projects. A shelter has been built at the airport and a youth centre building, performance area and ablutions block are under construction. The project gives young people pride in themselves and for their community while harnessing their enormous potential to contribute and improve community life.
