Maali academy program

Overview

More than 30 Indigenous boys, aged 13 to 18, from the suburbs of Midland, Middle Swan, Midvale, Stratton and Swan View have successfully reconnected with junior community clubs in the Swans District, following the completion of the Maali academy program.

The 10 week program was delivered by V Swans, in collaboration with the Swans District Football Development Council (SDFDC), Healthway, the City of Swan, Midland PCYC and Outcare.

Swans District Manager, Isaac Stewart said V Swans Program Managers, Peter Matera and Danny Penny delivered key educational messages to the teenage boys in relation to drugs, alcohol, crime awareness, nutrition, goal setting, self-esteem and respect for women.
