Overview

This project, run by the Department of Human Services (DHS) Victoria, aims to improve access and health outcomes for Aboriginal people with a disability.

In particular, the project aims to integrate the needs of Aboriginal people with a disability into existing regional Closing the gap plans developed by the DHS Victoria.

To achieve its goals, this project will:

• establish partnerships between Aboriginal, health and disability services in Victoria
• incorporate the views and leadership of Aboriginal people with a disability
• evaluate existing regional Closing the gap plans and programs
• develop good practice case studies and build a research and evidence base.

The project started in June 2010 and will run for 18 months.
