Overview

This community centred suicide prevention program targets groups at risk, including Indigenous people. The project involves raising awareness of the issues relating to suicide and addressing these issues through community activities. During 2008-2009 remote Indigenous communities to benefit from this project are Aurukun, Doomadgee, Mornington Island, Mount Isa, St George and Cunnamulla. The strategy will also be extended to the Lockhart River community in the following financial year.

The program is administered by the Queensland Department of Communities.
