Overview

The Outback eye service (OES) provides ophthalmology services to rural and remote areas of western New South Wales (NSW). The program delivers high quality sustainable, affordable, regular and culturally sensitive eye services to people in rural and remote NSW. The OES aim to improve access to eye care services and maintain strong links with communities.

The program has been running for over 10 years and is jointly funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, NSW Health Department, Greater Western Area Health Service, other NSW health facilities and supported by the Department of Ophtalmology, Prince of Wales Hospital.
