Overview

The Sunrise Health Service ear health program focuses on the early detection and intervention of ear disease and/or hearing loss in children in Sunrise Health Service communities in the Northern Territory.

The program is aimed at infants, preschool and school aged children, and recognises the need for a family approach when dealing with issues related to children's ear health and early development. The program utilises specialist expertise to identify and advise on ear health priorities and solutions, and assists in building the capacity of remote health centre staff to provide the highest possible standard of culturally appropriate health care in the area of ear health.
