The Regional eye health program is provided by the Wurli Wulinjang Health Service in Katherine, Northern Territory. It was established with funding from the Federal Government through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
The program seeks to screen people who have been diagnosed as having diabetes for diabetic retinopathy (DR). Services are made available to Indigenous people of the entire region, covering an area of around 250,000 square kilometres.
