Overview

This program has been conducted at the Mareeba State High School, Queensland with year 9 and 10 female Indigenous students since 2005. The aim of the program is to improve the mental health and well being of the students and the focus is on problem solving and self-esteem.

Objectives of the project are to:

• help the students to feel good about themselves and be proud of who they are
• help the students to get into the workforce and plan for a positive future
• encourage the students to complete their education.

The project was formerly assisted by staff from Queensland Health but is now run by the school.
