Be kind to your mind: Babum Yumal project

Overview

This project was originally conducted by the Department of Health Queensland. Its focus was on physical health as a vital link to mental health and wellbeing in Indigenous communities in the Innisfail area of Queensland.

The project offered Tai Chi, walking, swimming, gym and nutrition classes. It later offered cooking classes for young people as well.

The program was subsequently handed over to Mamu Community Controlled Health Service in Innisfail. It last ran in 2009.
