The aim of these guidelines is to assist health professionals in providing optimal,evidence-based psychosocial care of adults with cancer, and their families.

The guidelines also address specific issues such as culture, age and particular needs of rural patients. These guidelines for adults with cancer were developed by the National Breast Cancer Centre and the National Cancer Control Initiative, and overseen by a multidisciplinary Steering group.
