Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition

 

Description

The NT Mental Health Coalition is the peak body for mental health representing non-government organisations that provide services to people with mental health needs.
It operates as a sub-committee of the Northern Territory Council of Social Service (NTCOSS) and holds a seat on the Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA), the national peak body for mental health. The Coalition is a member of Community Mental Health Australia which is a national alliance of State and Territory peak bodies.

The Coalition has three goals:

  1. Promote and influence the development of the non-government mental health sector in the Northern Territory
  2. Represent the interests of Northern Territory Non-Government Organisations at local, state and federal levels
  3. Develop and implement strategies to raise community awareness and reduce stigma
