Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health, University of Western Australia

 

Description

The Centre was established in 1996 to assist the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in three main areas: to improve the recruitment and the retention of Aboriginal students in Medicine and Dentistry; to assist the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry with teaching on Aboriginal health issues; and to improve links between Aboriginal organisations and departments within the Faculty. The Centre is involved in teaching Medical students throughout the six year course and in joint projects with a number of Aboriginal health organisations.
