The National Drug Strategy was created in 1985 with strong bipartisan political support, and is responsible for a number of initiatives aimed at reducing the health impacts of alcohol and other drug use. It involves a cooperative venture between the Commonwealth and State/Territory Governments, as well as the non-government sector.
