This Department is made up of business areas with diverse responsibilities. The business areas that have the strongest links with road safety include:
- Road Safety Directorate
Researching road safety issues, informing the SA public about road safety, and developing legislation, policies and countermeasures.
- Transport Services
Providing a transport network that is safe and secure that meets community expectations, makes a positive contribution to the economy and has minimal impact on the environment.
- Policy and Planning
Developing, producing, implementing and evaluating effective policies, plans and investment strategies as well as monitoring emerging transport issues.
- Safety and Regulation
Promoting, maintaining and improving safety for transport users across the network through education campaigns, delivering services and regulation.
- Office of Major Projects and Infrastructure
Supporting the economic, social and environmental development of the state by identifying infrastructure priorities for South Australia (SA), coordinating infrastructure planning and development and facilitating the timely delivery of key projects.
