Description

The Cancer Council Tasmania is a community based organisation that seeks to minimise the impact of cancer on all Tasmanians. The Council offers several different services including:

• support services - Cancer Council helpline; cancer support centres; cancer support groups; Cancer Connect (peer support program); Cancer PLUS (for families of children with cancer); patient transport; and Cancer Council nurse;
• personal services - living with cancer education; Look Good Feel Better program; grants and interest free loans; and statewide breast prosthesis scheme;
• informational services on a range of cancer topics;
• prevention measures;
• support for health professionals;
• involvement in funding cancer research and scholarships; and
• advocacy.
