Centre of Research Excellence for Indigenous primary care research in chronic disease

 

Description

The Centre of Research Excellence for Indigenous primary care research in chronic disease was established to reduce the incidence and impact of chronic disease in remote regions, in particular diabetes, heart, and renal diseases. The centre is a part of the Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute.

The aim of the research centre is to:

The centre works with children and adults from eight rural and remote communities in South Australia and Queensland to assess the health impacts of the initiatives introduced, through each stage of health care service delivery. Results will inform current and future policies for tobacco control, nutrition interventions, and alcohol management.
