Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research

Description

The Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research (CDFVR) aims to create and disseminate knowledge to influence, and enhance, policy, programs and practice in the field of domestic and family violence prevention across Queensland. CDFVR does this through research, professional development, education and community engagement activities pertaining to domestic and family violence.

CDFVR established an Indigenous Reference Group in 2003 to ensure that CDFVR is inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and that its activities are responsive to their needs regarding domestic and family violence. The Reference Group meets two or three times a year, and provides advice and direction on a range of projects including:

CDFVR runs an annual Indigenous-specific forum and has created a number of resources.
