The South Metropolitan Health Service delivers high quality, safe, and effective hospital and health services for the Perth south metropolitan community. The South Metropolitan catchment area covers almost 5,000 square km, containing a population of almost 840,000, of which 1.8% identify as Aboriginal.
South Metropolitan Health Service came into effect on 1 July 2012, formed from the existing South Metropolitan Area Health Service (SMAHS).
