The MJD Foundation was established in 2008 and seeks to improve the quality of life for Indigenous Australians and their families living with Machado Joseph Disease (a neuro degenerative, hereditary condition), in Arnhem Land and beyond. Their activities are focused on Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island, and they also provide services to other affected areas of the Northern Territory.
