Description

Local Drug Action Groups Inc (LDAGs) is a non-profit organisation made up of volunteer members from the community. LDAGs come together and undertake a range of activities to take action to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug related harm in their local community.

LDAGs work in partnership with the Government of Western Australia and are a statewide network of individual communities, working together to make a difference at a grassroots level. LDAGs provide resources and programs including:

• Support, train, resource and inspire volunteer experience (STRIVE) - a program for upskilling volunteers
• ChillOut! - a resource that offers young people an area where they can relax in a comfortable and friendly environment while being exposed to positive role models and drug aware messages
• CONNECT - an innovative 'community action' focused resource, developed to support volunteers as they identify and develop strategies that aim to reduce alcohol and other drug related harms.

Over 60 LDAGs operate throughout Western Australia, including many groups with Indigenous members.
