Foodbank WA



Foodbank Western Australia (WA) is a charitable organisation which distributes donated and surplus food from the food and grocery industry, to welfare and community agencies that provide food assistance to people in need.

Foodbank WA has its head office in Perth as well as regional centres in Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Peel.

Foodbank WA is a member of a national group of affiliated Foodbanks which includes operations in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.

Through their Healthy Food for All Program Foodbank WA conducts nutrition and physical activity health promotion programs for the WA community, these current programs include:

Foodbank WA have developed a suite of nutrition education resources, called Superhero Foods aimed at school aged children. The characters are very engaging and aim to empower children to make health lifestyle choices. The Superhero foods are linked to the current guidelines promoted in the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and provide a fresh approach to teaching nutrition and cooking.
