General Practice Network NT



In July 2012 General Practice Network NT transitioned to the Northern Territory Medicare Local (NTML). NTML is a collaborative partnership between General Practice Network NT (GPNNT), the NT Department of Health (DoH) and the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance NT (AMSANT). NTML will be one of 61 Medicare Locals established Australia-wide under Commonwealth Government primary health care reforms.

The General Practice Network NT (GPNNT) coordinated a territory-wide primary health care network with the objective of improving health service delivery and health outcomes in the Northern Territory (NT). They maintained and built capacity to respond and deliver quality, equitable and effective primary health care services; brokered health solutions; supported primary health care providers; and influenced the health care agenda.

GPNNT delivered a range of programs and services in support of these aims including:
