Description

The Eye Foundation is a not-for-profit eye health organisation. It was in founded in 2002 as the fundraising arm of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and The Ophthalmic Research Institute of Australia (ORIA). The Eye Foundation represents more than 890 Australian and New Zealand medical eye specialists (ophthalmologists) and is dedicated to restoring sight and preventing vision loss throughout Australasia.

The Eye Foundation funds initiatives in the following areas:

• sustainable eye care programs in disadvantaged communities both in Australia and internationally
• community awareness campaigns to increase public knowledge about eye health
• financial support for other eye health research projects
• scholarships to help ophthalmic trainees and ophthalmologists complete their studies or undertake further training.
