Description

Food Fairness Illawarra is a voluntary, not-for-profit alliance of community groups, individuals, agencies and government organisations.

A coordination group oversees the direction of the alliance. Individual working parties address specific areas such as policy development, land use planning, and on-the-ground initiatives like community gardens and community cooking classes. The alliance is administered by Healthy Cities Illawarra.

The alliance works together to:

• share information, resources, and research ideas
• develop skills, awareness and education
• bring issues of common concern to the attention of the community and decision-makers
• advise and negotiate with decision-makers to develop good food policies

Membership is open to all organisations, individuals, community groups and enterprises who are interested in good food and support the general aims of Food Fairness Illawarra.

Food Fairness Illawarra was formed in 2005.
