Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan

Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation that specialises in providing women and child maternal health care services to the Far North Queensland region.

Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan accepts clients referred by community clinics in conjunction with the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

As there are no birthing facilities in Cape York and Western Queensland, pregnant women need to go to Cairns around four to six weeks before the birth of their baby. Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan can provide accommodation for twelve clients including meals and transportation to and from medical appointments.

They have a a staff member on duty twenty-four hours a day and are available for emergencies at all times. Staff give assistance of mothercraft, health education, welfare issues and treatment of minor aliments.
